Tools You Will Need:
1 large bowl
1 medium-sized bowl
1 small bowl
cup measure
tsp. measure
tbsp. measure
2 greased baking sheets
rolling pin
Ingredients:
PASTRY

3 C flour
1 tbsp. yeast
1-½ granulated sugar
1 large egg
¾ tsp. baking powder
tbsp. powdered milk
1 eggs
1-½ -C warm water
¼ tsp. salt

FILLING

¼ tsp. zataar
2/3 C crumbled feta cheese

TOPPING

Seeds of your choice (poppy, sesame, caraway)
1 egg, lightly beaten

Directions:
1. In the large bowl, mix yeast, baking powder, salt, flour and powdered milk.

2. Add olive oil, egg, warm water and mix with flour mixture and knead well.

3. Cover with a clean towel and let rise until doubled, about 20 minutes.

4. In medium-sized bowl mix the crumbled feta cheese with the zataar.

5. Transfer dough mixture to a slightly floured surface.

6. Roll 1-½" piece of dough into a ball and use rolling pin to flatten it.

7. Place 1 tbsp. in the middle of the flattened dough. The amount can vary depending upon the size of your dough pieces.

8. Fold two opposite sides of the dough towards each other and pinch in the middle to close. If filling oozes out, reduce amount used.

9. Repeat process until all of the dough is used.

10. Put pastries on the greased baking sheets.

11. Brush tops with lightly beaten egg and sprinkle on seed topping of your choice.

12. Cook at 350 degrees F until golden brown (20 minutes approximately).

Best Served With: Black Coffee
