This unique but popular Middle Eastern recipe is very easy
to prepare, and goes perfectly with bread recipes.

Tools You Will Need:

  1 tbsp
  1 large bowl or bucket
  1 medium jar
  Cotton cloth or cheesecloth (washed and cleaned)
  Rope

Ingredients:
 
  ½ gallon yogurt
  1 Tbsp sea-salt
  2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  4 Tbsp za’atar

  1.  Mix the yogurt with the salt.

  2.  Spread the mixture on the cloth.

  3.  Tie the cloth so that it squeezes the mixture.

  4.  Use the rope to suspend the cloth above a big bowl or
       bucket.

  5. After 12 hours, you’ll have labane. Put the labane in a  medium-sized
      jar, add olive oil and za’atar on top, and it’s ready for enjoying!
